An absolute delight! Every weekend, we would always order out only steamed dumplings from one of the Chinese Kiosks close to our house. The dumplings would be accompanied by a nice chilli soya sauce and this lip-smacking chilli dip. It was such a mystery to find out what all they would add to make it taste like this! It took me about a week’s trial and error to get the almost perfect taste.
It tastes absolutely fantastic as a dip with any sandwiches, or any Chinese dish or even grilled chicken.

1 tbsp, finely chopped
2 - 3 tbsp
Heat oil, add the chopped garlic and allow it to cook.
Add the cilli flakes and cook for approximately a minute.
Add the ketchup, and salt and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
Allow to cool.
P.S. Even if you use just 2 tbsp of oil, after being cooked, the ketchup gives out a lot of oil.
