I definitely didn't want to throw it out and neither make some more dhokla from it. Hence made this slight variation to the batter and fried it. It turned out to be such a hit with all my friends! Especially having it as a snack, you have to add some lemon juice to it and sliced onions.
A perfect snack for an evening tea party.
10 - 15 Minutes
20 - 25 Minutes
about 20 pakodas
Split Moong Dal
Green Chilli Paste
2 - 3 tbsp
1/2 tsp (or more according to your taste)
Soak the moong dal for atleast 6-8 hours.
Grind it to a fine thick paste using as little water as possible. Add the ginger-garlic-green chilli pastes and salt, stir well.
Add the besan and baking soda to this and stir well to ensure no lumps remain.
Heat oil in a kadai and drop a teaspoon of the batter and keep stirring till it gets a golden-brown colour.
Remove from the kadai and dab on a tissue to get rid of excess oil.
P.S. Goes best with sliced onions and lemon.
